Alabama is known for its many aviators and astronauts. In this episode of the Alabama Short Stories podcast, you will learn about a woman who decided that if Charles Lindbergh could fly across the Atlantic, so could she. Ruth Elder left Anniston, Alabama, learned to fly, and became one of Alabama’s first women aviators. You will hear about some of her accomplishments and if she made it across the Atlantic or not.
